Job Description The Music Director leads the music ministry of Trinity Episcopal Church, providing leadership that enriches worship and supports the mission to welcome, inspire, and form disciples. Working collaboratively with the Rector, the Music Director cultivates a vibrant ministry that encourages congregational participation, nurtures volunteers, and creates worship that is beautiful, prayerful, and inviting. Music is understood as an essential element of worship and as a ministry of hospitality and invitation, drawing newcomers into the life of the congregation while deepening the faith and participation of existing members.
Qualifications:
Education and demonstrated experience as a church organist, pianist/keyboardist, or an extensive amount of training. Familiarity with Hymnal 1982, openness to using other supplements including: Wonder, Love & Praise Lift Every Voice & Sing II Voices Found Required Services Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Christmas Eve Easter Sunday Annual Episcopal Visitations Baptisms occurring during Sunday liturgy Optional Services Other services offered to the Organist as needed. Acceptance is entirely at the Organist's discretion and is not required. Hours, Compensation & Benefits Part-time position up to 10 hours per week, including worship planning, music preparation, individual practice, and Sunday choir practice and worship. Sick days / vacation are unpaid and there is no health care coverage. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS charitable rate. Type of Commitment Part Time Does this job pay? Yes
