Piano Accompanist
  • Vocal/Instrumental Salary $25.00 Hourly Location Prescott Campus, Prescott, AZ Job Type Casual Part Time (Less than 20 hours/week) Job Number 2026-00199 Department Vocal Opening Date 08/11/2026 Description Benefits Description of Position Piano accompanists may play for choral ensembles, musical productions, and private vocal and instrumental music students.
  • Accompanist duties include playing during regular class sessions, rehearsals, recitals, private lessons, and performances; some performances may be off campus
  • Works under the close supervision of music directors and instructors
  • Other related duties as assigned This is a temporary part-time position working 0
  • 19 hours per week as scheduled. Minimum Expectations & Requirements
  • At least one year of experience in playing piano as an accompanist with individuals or groups
  • Ability to play in a wide variety of musical styles, such as classical, jazz, pop and Broadway
  • Basic knowledge of music theory including notation, musical symbols, scales, chords, terminology, harmony and rhythm
  • Ability to listen closely and follow oral instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships Preferred Skills & Abilities
  • Experience playing piano in front of audiences
  • Ability to play difficult music at an advanced level
  • Ability to adjust playing style to match differing student/ensemble levels
