Job Description
The Accompanist provides piano accompaniment for Iowa Central Community College music ensembles, rehearsals, performances, auditions, juries, and related Performing Arts activities. This position works collaboratively with faculty, students, and guest artists to support the educational and performance goals of the Performing Arts Department. 1. Constant (67-100%) Provide piano accompaniment for assigned rehearsals, classes, lessons, auditions, and performances. Prepare and perform assigned musical literature in collaboration with faculty and students. Support student learning by assisting with musical accuracy, tempo, and ensemble coordination. 2. Frequent (34-66%) Attend scheduled concerts, recitals, juries, and special events requiring accompaniment. Collaborate with music faculty regarding repertoire, rehearsal schedules, and performance needs. Maintain professional communication with students, faculty, and staff. 3. Occasional (10-33%) Accompany recruiting events, scholarship auditions, and community performances as assigned. Assist with special music projects or guest artist events. Perform other duties as assigned.
