Immediately Job Description Iowa City West High School is seeking a skilled and collaborative pianist to serve as a choral accompanist. The accompanist will work closely with the choral directors to support rehearsals, concerts, contests, and other performances throughout the school year. Responsibilities include: Provide piano accompaniment for daily choir rehearsals, concerts, contests, and special events. Prepare and perform a variety of choral repertoire with accuracy and musicality. Collaborate with the choral director in preparing students and ensembles for performances. Rehearse with vocalists and provide musical support as needed. Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive relationship with students and staff. Demonstrate flexibility, reliability, strong sight-reading skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high school music program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong piano skills, experience accompanying vocal or choral ensembles, excellent music-reading abilities, and experience working with high school students.
