Job Description

Rector (PT)
PALATINE, IL
Posted Apr 1, 2026 Job Title Rector Name of church or organization St. Philip's Episcopal Church Job Location
PALATINE, IL
Job Description St. Philip's Episcopal Church, a welcoming, faithful, dynamic community, is seeking a ¾ time rector. A presence in the Palatine community since 1948, St. Philip's has multiple community connections and supports several local outreach initiatives. Parishioners would like to develop more interactive outreach in the Palatine area. We seek a rector who shares this passion and will work collaboratively with our congregation to grow the church. While St. Philip's does not own a rectory, we feel a rector residing in the Palatine area can best help us achieve these goals. We are looking for a rector who loves and has experience in spiritual formation and will help us increase our formation programs for all ages, especially for children. Also, the ideal next rector should be both comfortable with traditional worship, and willing to try new things and introduce more contemporary expressions of worship and music. Strong leadership and administrative skills are also highly valued. Palatine, a northwest suburb of Chicago, has numerous outdoor amenities, including public parks, swimming complexes, bike trails and an outdoor auditorium. The village also offers high quality fire and police protection. Palatine is also known to have a strong public school system as well as several private and parochial schools, and several colleges and universities are fairly close by. Being 30 miles from Chicago, its beautiful lakefront, museums and special events are only a drive or train ride away. Type of Commitment 3/4 Time Does this job pay? Yes
