Lake Park High School District 108 is seeking a skilled, dependable, and collaborative pianist to serve as a Choir Accompanist. This stipend position supports students and music faculty through scheduled rehearsals, sectional work, individual preparation, and performances throughout the school year. The accompanist must be available for the following primary choral events: October 13, 2026 November 19, 2026 December 8, 2026 January 12, 2027, during the school day February 23, 2027 April 27, 2027 May 8, 2027 May 26, 2027 (Graduation)Required Qualifications:
Strong piano proficiency, including the ability to prepare and perform a wide range of choral repertoire. Ability to learn music independently and prepare assigned repertoire within established timelines. Strong sight-reading ability. Dependability, punctuality, professionalism, and effective communication skills. Ability to collaborate positively with teachers and work effectively with high school students. Ability to meet all District employment and background-check requirements.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience accompanying high school choirs, vocalists, or student ensembles. Experience accompanying vocal jazz ensembles. Ability to read jazz charts, lead sheets, chord symbols, and rhythm-section notation. Confidence to perform in classical and jazz styles. Strong singing ability and experience leading vocal sectional rehearsals. College-level musical training or comparable professional experience.SALARY RANGE
The Choir Accompanist will receive an $8,000 stipend for the 2026-2027 school year . The stipend includes independent musical preparation, assigned daytime rehearsals, the identified choral performances, and graduation. Responsibilities that would extend beyond the established scope of this annual commitment must receive administrative approval in advance and may be eligible for additional compensation.APPLICATION PROCEDURE
