Berklee College of Music invites nominations and applications for a full-time Assistant Chair position in the Voice Department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate significant professional accomplishment, knowledge, and skill in vocal performance and pedagogy across a wide variety of contemporary styles, alongside expertise in applying science-based vocal pedagogy to vocal training. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assisting the Chair with the leadership and administration of the department, including:

Faculty Support:

Leading faculty supervision, scheduling, evaluation, and professional development.

Student Advising:

Guiding and advising students within the department.

Operations & Budgeting:

Managing the departmental budget, facilities, regular concerts, and specialized clinics.

Academic Leadership:

Supporting the department's musical and educational direction, including curriculum development, goal setting, and modern educational technology support.

Summer Programming:

Assisting with college summer offerings, including the 12-Week semester program, the Aspire 5-Week program, and the week-long Vocal Summit.

Qualifications & Requirements Education:

Master of Music (or equivalent professional experience) is required.

Experience:

Proven background as an excellent musician, experienced educator, and effective administrator, preferably within a collegiate setting.

Artistic Standing:

National recognition as a musician and a thorough understanding of contemporary musical styles.

Interpersonal Skills:

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with an aptitude f or embracing cultural diversity in individuals, teaching perspectives, and curriculum design.

Appointment:

This is a full-time, 12-month position with an initial three-year appointment starting September 1, 2027.

Compensation:
