First Church of Squantum (FCS) is a small, vibrant congregational church in the Squantum neighborhood of Quincy and has been a valued part of the community for over 100 years. Our Sunday worship is the focal point of our week, bringing all members of the congregation together for worship and fellowship. We are seeking a pianist to lead the musical portion of our Sunday worship services on average every other Sunday morning. This involves playing the piano for 4-5 hymns, along with a special music piece and an offertory. Many experienced pianists find they are able to sight read the hymns and the special music can be a short piece that you are familiar with already and/or are playing as well in another venue. The hymns and order of service will be available to you during the week prior to your scheduled Sunday. The time commitment is from 9:45-11:15 AM every other Sunday (FCS has a pianist who plays the other Sundays.) The pay is $150 per service played at. This is an ideal position for a young pianist or someone who is in school for music education. There is the potential to make this into a longer term position if desired over time. If you do not have transportation available, we are accessible via public transportation. The MBTA bus 211 stops right in front of the church.

Qualifications:

Skills in sight reading music and piano performance.
