Collaborate with choir directors, pastors, and worship leaders to plan music selections that enhance the spiritual experience. Adapt performances based on liturgical calendar, special events, or seasonal themes, ensuring musical relevance and variety. Maintain and tune musical instruments regularly to ensure optimal sound quality during services. Arrange and improvise musical compositions or harmonizations to enrich traditional hymns or contemporary worship songs. Utilize digital audio workstation (DAW) software for recording or editing music as needed for special presentations or virtual components. Skills Extensive knowledge of musical liturgical traditions and religious music performance experience. Proven concert music performance experience demonstrating versatility across genres. Proficiency in organ playing, piano, guitar, drums, and other musical instruments relevant to church settings. Strong ability to read sheet music accurately and interpret complex arrangements quickly. Skilled in musical improvisation composition and blending diverse music genres seamlessly. Familiarity with hymn music selection and arrangements tailored for congregational participation. Experience with acoustic treatment principles to optimize sound quality within worship spaces. Competence in using digital audio workstations (DAW) for recording or editing church music projects. Theater experience is a plus for leading dynamic performances or special events involving theatrical elements.
