Job Description

Overview The Pianist provides musical accompaniment for weekly worship services and choir rehearsals. The Pianist supports the worship experience by providing skillful, spirit-led music that enhances congregational singing, the choir, and other musical elements during regular worship services. Responsibilities Provide piano accompaniment for all scheduled weekly worship services and choir rehearsals. Accompany the choir, soloists, and congregational singing during worship services. Prepare and rehearse music in advance to ensure a high standard of musical excellence. Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled rehearsals and worship services. Demonstrate flexibility in following the order of worship and responding to changes during services. Support a worship atmosphere that encourages reverence, celebration, and active congregational participation. Maintain professionalism, reliability, and a cooperative spirit while serving in the music ministry. Skills Proficiency in piano performance. Ability to play traditional hymns, gospel music, and contemporary worship selections. Strong accompaniment and sight-reading skills. Knowledge of music theory, harmony, and chord progressions. Ability to accompany choirs, soloists, and congregational singing. Good listening, communication, and teamwork skills. Dependability, punctuality, and strong time management. Commitment to supporting the worship ministry through musical excellence and Christian character.
