In this role, you will serve as a key performer, inspiring audiences through powerful vocals and musical versatility. Your ability to blend various music genres, improvise melodies, and harmonize with fellow musicians will elevate our musical offerings. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about religious music performance, skilled in reading sheet music, and experienced in live concert settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to vibrant worship experiences and community events while honing your musical talents. Duties Perform a wide range of musical styles including hymn music, gospel, contemporary Christian, and concert music performances. Lead congregational singing during worship services, ensuring an engaging and uplifting experience for all attendees. Collaborate with instrumentalists such as guitarists, drummers, organists, and pianists to create cohesive and inspiring musical arrangements. Select appropriate music pieces that align with service themes or event objectives, utilizing your expertise in music selection. Harmonize melodies and improvise musical passages to enhance live performances and maintain audience engagement. Play multiple musical instruments including guitar, piano, organ, or drums as needed to support ensemble arrangements. Utilize digital audio workstation (DAW) software for recording rehearsals or performances when necessary. Assist with acoustic treatment setup to optimize sound quality in performance spaces. Read sheet music fluently and interpret musical notation accurately during rehearsals and live shows. Contribute to the creative process by composing or arranging new hymns or worship songs that resonate with the congregation or audience. Participate in theater or stage performances that incorporate musical elements to broaden the scope of engagement. Qualifications Proven experience performing religious music and concert performances in live settings. Strong knowledge of musical liturgical traditions and hymnology. Demonstrated ability to read sheet music confidently and interpret complex arrangements. Skilled in playing multiple instruments such as guitar, piano, organ, or drums; proficiency preferred in at least two instruments. Experience with digital audio workstations (DAW) for recording or editing audio projects. Familiarity with acoustic treatment principles to enhance sound quality in performance venues. Ability to improvise melodies and harmonize with other vocalists or instrumentalists seamlessly. Knowledge of various music genres blending techniques for versatile performances. Theater experience is a plus for engaging stage presence during performances or special events. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team of musicians and worship leaders.
