Director of Music Ministry / Worship Planning Team Position Overview Christus Victor Lutheran Church is seeking up to four talented, collaborative part-time musicians to join our music ministry team. This unique role combines musical performance, vocal leadership, and digital engagement to help lead our congregation in worship. As a Musician and Section Leader, you will support our choir, anchor Wednesday evening youth-focused worship, elevate Sunday services, and help introduce new music to our community both in person and online. Key Responsibilities 1.

Vocal & Ensemble Leadership Wednesday Choir:

Participate actively as a section leader during Wednesday evening choir rehearsals and performances, providing strong vocal guidance and support to volunteer singers.

Sunday Worship:

Serve as a cantor for one Sunday worship service per month, and sing with the choir for two Sunday worship services per month. 2. Midweek & Youth Worship Participate in and/or lead musical worship for Wednesday evening services in conjunction with our youth programming (averaging three Wednesdays per month). 3.

Congregation Engagement & Creative Input Song Selection:

Collaborate to select one to two new songs of faith per month to introduce and teach to the congregation throughout the year.

Digital Ministry:

Partner with fellow section leaders and musicians to record these new songs for deployment across the church's social media platforms, helping the congregation learn the music at home.

Worship Planning:

Participate as required in worship planning sessions to align musical selections with the liturgical calendar and sermon themes.

Position Requirements Instrumental Proficiency:

Must be able to play an instrument proficiently. Extra consideration will be given to candidates who play the piano or drums. Other instruments are welcome such as guitar and bass. Any instrument will be considered.

Vocal Ability:

Must be a proficient singer. Formal music study or private voice lessons are highly preferable.

Faith Alignment:

At minimum must be open to, comfortable with, and respectful of the Christian faith and Lutheran worship traditions.

Reliability & Professionalism:

Exceptional punctuality, musical preparation, and the ability to work collaboratively with both professional staff and volunteer musicians. Compensation These roles are paid on a per-appearance basis, which compensates both for the performance time and the independent preparation required to arrive fully ready to lead.

Rehearsals:

$50 per appearance

Worship Services:
