Job Description

Unity of Columbia is seeking a talented, dependable pianist to provide music for our Sunday services. We are looking for an experienced musician who enjoys collaborating with others and can help create an uplifting, welcoming worship experience through music. Responsibilities Attend Sunday morning rehearsal at 8:45 a.m. and provide music for the 10:00-11:00 a.m. service. Select the music for each Sunday service, including congregational songs and instrumental selections. Accompany congregational singing, soloists, and guest musicians as needed. Provide instrumental music for meditation and other portions of the service. Communicate with the Sunday service team regarding musical selections and needs. Participate in occasional special services or events throughout the year, with advance notice and additional compensation. Arrive prepared, punctual, and ready to contribute to a positive and collaborative environment. Qualifications Proficient piano skills and ability to read music. Ability to accompany singers and lead congregational singing. Reliable, punctual, and well-organized. Strong communication and collaborative skills. Schedule Approximately 3-5 hours per week total Sunday mornings: 8:45 a.m.-11:00 a.m., including rehearsal and the Sunday service Additional time during the week for selecting and preparing music Occasional special services or events throughout the year, scheduled in advance with additional compensation About Unity of Columbia Unity of Columbia is an inclusive spiritual community that celebrates the divine within every person.
