Rehearse/perform with students for MUS 100 class as a rhythm section member Rehearse/perform at the discretion of the faculty as a rhythm section member for ensembles in need to include but not limited to vocal jazz, saxophone ensemble Assist with music office tasks to include but not limited to; filing, photocopying, organizing music, library and library spreadsheet maintenance Serve as ambassador of the CSN Music department both on and off campus when performance opportunities arise. Our services benefit : CSN students , faculty and staff, and the community outside of CSN Work Experience in our Department supports the followingDegree/Certificate Programs:
Music, AA majorsRequired Qualifications:
Punctuality. Organized. Good communication skills with phone and text. Ability to upload, download, and print files from emails. Will work with professors and students to schedule rehearsal time to prepare for performances.Preferred Qualifications:
Along with the required qualifications the following will be expected from applicants. Ability to read music at a high level on one of the following instruments; Piano, Guitar, Double Bass, Drum set. Experience playing in a variety of jazz, pop, commercial styles of music. The hiring process can include submission of a sample of ability on one's instrument if felt needed at the discretion of the Supervisor, currently Dr. Phy, Director of Jazz studies. Be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program for summer semester/term employment.- Student's cannot work another position within NSHE at the same time they are employed as a CSN College Work Study student.
