Piano Accompanist Spencerport School District Spencerport, NY Job Details Part-time From $25 an hour 4 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Retirement plan Qualifications Piano Soprano voice specialization High school diploma or GED Alto voice specialization Choral group performance experience Full Job Description The Spencerport School District is currently accepting applications for an accompanist position for the 2026-27 school year, responsible for playing the piano as an accompanist during choral ensembles in daily rehearsals and scheduled performances. Applicants will be reviewed and selected candidates will be contacted for an interview. Candidates must be eligible for appointment as Accompanist, as per the rules and regulations of the Monroe County Department of Human Resources and Civil Service.

•Applicants must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment for the NYS Education Department before employment begins.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus

EITHER:

a. One year of paid full time work or its part time/ volunteer equivalent experience as an accompanist working with choral groups or small ensembles; OR, b. One year of college level musical instrumental studies; OR, c. Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) or (b) above.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent performance skills on piano, excellent music reading skill, ability to read and play 3-5 parts to support the choir in the learning process is an expectation, and enjoy many genres of choral music.

Work Year:

Part-time (approximately 5 hours per day) , 10 months

Salary/Rate of Pay:

Starting at $25 per hour, based on experience
