Job Title:
Church Accompanist Reports to:Pastor, Worship Team Job Description:
Coordinate, organize and lead the musical aspects of the worship service in conjunction with thePastor, Choir Director, and Worship Team Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide keyboard accompaniment for all services on Sundays and special holidays. This includes Prelude, Postlude, Liturgy, Hymns and Choir or special music accompaniment. Some mid-week services on Thursday evenings throughout the year.
- Accompany Choir weekly during the worship services and for practice prior to the services during the months of September through May.
- Accompany special music and soloists during summer months and monthly during the rest of the church year.
- Meet with small group to select hymns for services monthly.
- Meet with worship team seasonally.
- Arrange for piano tuning annually.
Additional Skills/Qualifications:
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in teams.
- Ability to sight read preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly and be flexible.
