Apply Now Vocal Coach - ( 26000150 ) Description Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world's best pre-K through 12th grade private schools, where approximately 2,200 students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with a cost-free home and a top-notch education. Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey in 1909, the school is fully endowed today, with the resources to ensure students can thrive. The school has prepared over 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and is expanding to serve more students for future generations. MHS is seeking an ancillary Vocal Coach (female voices) to work with our senior division vocal students. Duties will include small group vocal lessons for advancing high school vocal students while utilizing a variety of vocal literature, master class and recital planning/prep, and support of other student vocal needs (i.e. choir music preparation/review and college audition preparation/support). Must be able to commit to approximately 200 hours per school year (approximately 20 hours per month for 10 months). Lessons are typically scheduled based on student availability Monday through Friday from 3pm-6pm. Recitals typically occur twice per year (Winter & Spring - after school or weekend). Qualifications Bachelor's degree in music and previous voice instruction experience. Piano skills to play accompaniment and vocal parts. Currently enrolled college music majors will be considered with professor recommendation. At least 2 years of prior experience as a private vocal instructor with youth and the changing voice preferred. Demonstrated skills in effectively establishing strategies that enhance students' skills. Familiarity with vocal repertoire, suited for the young changing voice. Availability to work throughout the school calendar year - September through June. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for MHS students. Candidates must be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities
