Longswamp United Church of Christ is seeking a talented and dependable Part-Time Organist to support our worship ministry and enhance the spiritual life of our congregation through music. Position Overview The Organist will provide musical accompaniment for worship services and collaborate with church leadership to support meaningful and engaging worship experiences. This position is ideal for an experienced church musician seeking a flexible, part-time commitment within a welcoming faith community. Primary Responsibilities Play organ for two Sunday worship services per month . Attend and provide music for the 10:15 a.m. worship service on the two scheduled Sundays. Coordinate with the Pastor and designated church leadership regarding music selections and service needs. Provide prelude, offertory, postlude, hymns, and other musical accompaniment as appropriate. Accompany choir anthem once a month. Maintain a high level of professionalism, preparation, and punctuality. Additional Opportunities The Organist should be available, as scheduling permits, to provide musical support for: Weddings Funerals and memorial services Christmas, Easter, and other special holiday services Additional church events and celebrations Qualifications Proficiency in organ performance and church hymn accompaniment (or a skilled pianist who is willing to learn how to play the organ). Experience serving as an organist in a church or worship setting preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteers, and congregation members. Strong reliability, communication skills, and professionalism. Compensation
