Truly, all are welcome here. We desire a musician who will help us continue building worship that reflects those values. Job Description To provide piano music for the Sunday worship service (10:00 a.m. currently) and share responsibility for the other accompaniment needs of the church, in collaboration with the pastor and choir. Responsibilities and Duties Provide piano music for the Sunday worship service, including prelude, postlude, offertory, hymn accompaniment, and other music as required. Provide musical accompaniment for the chancel choir rehearsals and performances. Provide musical accompaniment for "special music" performances during the service as needed. Provide instrumental music for special weekday and evening worship services as arranged, especially around church holidays. Collaborate with the pastor and choir director on selecting hymns and music appropriate to the liturgical season and worship themes. Arrange for a substitute musician in the event of absence and inform church leadership and the office of the arrangement. May be asked to play for weddings and funerals (families will be responsible for compensation). Other duties as assigned. Job Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in piano performance or significant experience in piano performance/accompaniment required. Demonstrated skill and competency at the piano, both as a soloist and as an accompanist. Demonstrated skill and competency with organ or keyboard is a plus. Regular, timely attendance at worship services, rehearsals, and other scheduled events. Good organizational, planning, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, choir director, choir members, and church leadership.
