Job Description

One Mission. Many Opportunities. Join the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration mission and ministry! We are seeking a full-time Liturgist and Musician to join our team at St. Rose Convent—the spiritual heart and administrative center of FSPA in La Crosse, WI. In this role, you will lead, coordinate, and execute Eucharistic Liturgies, Sacramental celebrations, and prayer services for the St. Rose community. You will also have exciting opportunities to collaborate on broader FSPA functions, the Franciscan Spirituality Center and Viterbo University. We are looking for an energetic, caring individual who has :
Education & Experience:
A Bachelor's Degree in Liturgy, Theology, or Music. Equivalent knowledge of music and/or liturgy obtained through advanced education or relevant work experience will also be considered.
Liturgical Knowledge:
A thorough understanding of liturgy, theology, and Scripture necessary to perform basic liturgical coordination responsibilities.
Musical Literacy:
Knowledge of music publication sources, electronic music reprints, composers, and authors. Ability to play piano and organ is preferred
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new software programs. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Mission Alignment:
Identify with and display a deep commitment to the mission, philosophy, and core values of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.
Worship Planning:
Direct the community worship program, including planning liturgical seasons, maintaining the liturgical calendar, and organizing special services in collaboration with the St. Rose Liturgy Committee.
Musical Care:
Maintain and oversee the use of all musical instruments at St. Rose, including the pipe organ and six pianos.
Ministry Coordination:
Coordinate and manage schedules for all individuals involved in liturgical ministries.
Repertoire Integration:
Utilize FSPA traditional music literature and sacred choral literature, while incorporating contemporary music resources.
Budget & Procurement:
Select and purchase appropriate music for liturgical services, and secure accompanists for services within the established yearly budget.
