Overview The Stage Manager plays a crucial role in the successful execution of theatrical productions, ensuring that all elements of the performance come together seamlessly. The Stage Manager will coordinate between various departments, manage rehearsals, and oversee the technical aspects of productions, ensuring that everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Duties Coordinate and schedule rehearsals, ensuring all cast and crew are informed of their responsibilities and timelines. Communicate effectively with directors, performers, and technical staff to facilitate smooth production processes. Oversee stage setups and breakdowns, managing props, costumes, and set pieces. Maintain prompt communication during performances to address any issues that may arise. Document blocking notes and cues for performances to ensure consistency across shows. Assist in teaching choreography or staging elements when necessary, particularly in dance-focused productions. Provide support during public speaking events or presentations related to the production. Run lights/sound during shows. Skills Strong background in theater production with an understanding of stage management principles. Proficiency in dancing, particularly ballet, is highly desirable to assist with choreography-related tasks. Excellent communication skills to effectively relay information among cast and crew members. Public speaking abilities to confidently address groups during rehearsals or performances. Strong writing skills for documenting notes, cues, and reports related to productions. Teaching experience is a plus for guiding performers through choreography or staging.
