- Event Stage Manager
EVENT OVERVIEW
Join the team of Dark Nights, a frightfully immersive haunt experience spreading its shadows over the Hersheypark® landscape every evening during Hersheypark Halloween seasonal event, unearthing five scare zones and five spine-tingling haunted houses.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- STAGE MANAGER Stage Manager candidates will have previous experience in supervising a diverse set of personalities and maintaining a calm demeanor in stressful and high-pressure situations.
Must have high performance standards, a high level of enthusiasm and thrive in a fast-paced team environment, a general understanding of AV equipment, understand operations and guest control.
PAY RATE
- $21•$24/hr•Pending Experience
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
This is a haunt event, which means we're looking for people who can work September through the end of October, early November. Must have the ability to work all Dark Nights performance dates from approximately 2:00 PM
- 1:00AM (Friday
- Sunday)
DUTIES INCLUDE
- Reports directly to Line Producer and Production Management.
- Works with Operations, Talent, Security, Beverage, and Tech to ensure house integrity and safety.
- To know the house and character storyline for your area.
- Opening/closing assigned locations as needed.
- Following pre-show and post-show procedures and reporting of any damages, injuries, or concerns based on your assigned house.
- Assist with guest services and guest concerns.
- Respond in the appropriate manner regarding emergency, while communicating the situation.
- Ensure meal periods and rest breaks are taken in accordance with PA State Law for employees.
- Support Production Team in additional Dark Nights Events.
- Operate AV equipment as required following a training with the Technical Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience, or equivalent education, in leading a Team of multiple people is required.
- Previous experience working in theatrical, live events, or themed entertainment is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
- Ability to take initiative and ownership and solve problems.
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
- Ability to deal with irate guests and resolve guest issues and/or complaints.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests using a positive, clear speaking voice.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to manage diverse personalities, tactful and flexible.
- Ability to provide clear direction, instruction, and guidance to crew members.
