Job Description
Job description: Overview Join our dedicated team as a Personal Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal well-being. This vital role involves providing compassionate, respectful care in various settings such as assisted living facilities, group homes, and private residences. You will be instrumental in promoting independence, safety, and comfort for those you serve, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care every day. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met. Document care activities meticulously, update care plans regularly, and participate in team meetings to coordinate comprehensive patient support. Requirements Prior experience working in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and HIPAA compliance. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
