Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of resident rights and the ability to observe and monitor patients effectively. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our clients, particularly in long-term care settings or group homes. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals to meet individual needs. Observe and report changes in patients' conditions or behaviors to the appropriate healthcare staff. Ensure patient rights are respected and upheld at all times. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used for safety. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient information. Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in senior care and patient monitoring. Experience Previous experience in long-term care or as a Personal Care Assistant is preferred but not required. Familiarity with care plans, resident rights, and patient observation techniques is highly desirable. Experience working in a group home setting is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges is essential.
