Job Description

Job Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication and empathy will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals needing support with daily activities and personal well-being. In this vital role, you'll provide personalized care in various settings such as assisted living facilities, group homes, nursing homes, or clients' private residences. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help promote independence, safety, and comfort for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact every day. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs and observing for changes in condition or behavior Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and proper infection control practices Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges Document care activities accurately, update care plans regularly, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams Experience Prior experience working in assisted living, long-term care, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus Experience with patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, heavy lifting, and working with specialized equipment demonstrates readiness for this role Familiarity with care plans, social work principles, and supporting residents' emotional well-being enhances your effectiveness as a caregiver This position is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about providing compassionate support while gaining valuable experience in healthcare environments.
