Job Description
This position is located at the Choctaw Nation Healthcare Center in
Talihina Schedule:
Nightshift | 7 nights on, 7 nights off from Wednesday - Wednesday each week | Shift will start at 7pm and end 7am. Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional medication management and patient care within a hospital environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise, critical care experience, and passion for patient service to improve health outcomes. As a key member of the pharmacy department, you will ensure safe medication practices, provide expert consultation, and support multidisciplinary teams across various hospital units, including Med-Surgical, Obstetric, and Emergency Rooms. Your dedication will help foster a collaborative atmosphere focused on patient safety, effective pain management, and innovative pharmaceutical care. Responsibilities Dispense medications accurately while adhering to hospital protocols and regulatory standards Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized medication plans for diverse patient populations Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, including IV infusions and acute pain management strategies Provide expert guidance on pharmacy-related issues such as physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques Monitor patient responses to medications, adjusting therapy as necessary to optimize outcomes in critical care settings Oversee medication administration procedures ensuring compliance with safety standards and hospital policies Manage pharmacy inventory efficiently, including controlled substances and specialty medications for managed care programs Support emergency response efforts by providing critical pharmacological expertise in ER situations and trauma cases Experience Prior hospital pharmacy experience with a focus on clinical pharmacy services in acute care environments Demonstrated expertise in managed care settings Strong background in pharmacy residency programs or post-residency practice focusing on hospital medicine or critical care Proven ability to handle complex medication regimens involving pain management, IV infusions, and emergency medications Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques essential for patient safety and effective medication delivery Hands-on experience with patient service roles emphasizing patient assessment and education in diverse clinical settings This role is designed for motivated pharmacists eager to make a meaningful impact through expert medication management and compassionate patient care.
