Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through expert medication management and clinical services. You will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing medication counseling, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize therapeutic outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced hospital environment, utilizing your specialized knowledge to improve patient health and safety. Your expertise in hospital medicine, critical care, and trauma center protocols will be essential in ensuring the highest standards of pharmacy practice. Responsibilities Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, addressing questions about dosage, side effects, and interactions. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and modify treatment plans based on patient needs. Monitor patient responses to medications, adjusting therapy as necessary for optimal outcomes. Manage IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding in critical care settings such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) and ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Conduct patient assessments focusing on physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to ensure appropriate medication use. Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration, patient care activities, and pharmacy records in compliance with hospital policies. Qualifications Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction. Extensive hospital experience, including managed care settings and Level I Trauma Centers. Proven experience in hospital medicine, critical care, emergency room environments, and trauma centers. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology. Demonstrated expertise in acute pain management, post-residency clinical pharmacy experience, and medication administration procedures. Experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique is highly desirable. Background working within PICU or pediatric settings is preferred. Prior residency training or post-residency experience emphasizing clinical pharmacy practices is advantageous.
