Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A clinical pharmacist role is available for an overnight schedule at a renowned women's pavilion site. This 14-week contract begins on 5/18, with shifts working 7 days on and 7 days off, from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The position involves using EPIC as the electronic medical record system.

Overnight shift 7 on/7 off rotation 7:30 PM - 7:30
AM Responsibilities:
Manage the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care, identify and prevent potential drug-related problems, and resolve actual drug-related issues. Perform duties as defined by Texas Children's Hospital applicable to patients ranging from neonates to adults. Ensure appropriateness of all medication doses considering patient diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions, maintaining a record free from medication incidents. Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system, ensuring error-free processing. Verify that medications delivered to patients are correct, minimizing dispensing errors. Process medication orders and deliver doses promptly within established guidelines, maintaining high standards demonstrated by peer reviews. Adhere to aseptic technique and strict infection control during sterile product preparation, enforcing these practices among technicians and pharmacists. Successfully complete annual re-certification with a minimum score of 90% on aseptic technique/infection control assessments.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2+ years of inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably in pediatrics. Licensed Pharmacist in Texas. ACPE IV certification required.
