An established specialty pharmacy organization is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the launch of a new closed-door pharmacy operation in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This full-time, onsite role offers the unique opportunity to guide pharmacy operations from initial licensure and inspection readiness through full operational launch and ongoing compliance. Target start date is mid-June.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for Pennsylvania pharmacy licensure and regulatory compliance. Lead pharmacy licensing processes, regulatory submissions, and prepare for Board of Pharmacy inspections. Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy policies. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, including DEA regulations. Support operational setup including workflow design, compliance frameworks, and quality assurance systems. Oversee post-launch pharmacy operations ensuring dispensing accuracy, safety, and regulatory adherence. Maintain audit readiness and act as primary liaison for regulatory inspections. Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to ensure successful pharmacy launch and scaling. Potentially assist with multi-state licensing as the organization expands. Qualifications /
Desired Experience:
Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required). Experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or in a leadership pharmacy role. Strong knowledge of state Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations. Background in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy preferred. Familiarity with audits, inspections, and pharmacy startup environments highly desirable. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a start-up environment by taking initiative and building operational structure. Detail-oriented with strong regulatory and compliance focus. Interest in long-term growth within an expanding pharmacy organization.
