Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy professional is needed on a contract basis to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role involves dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety, and delivering expert consultation services to promote optimal medication use.

Key Responsibilities:
Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications. Monitor patient medication compliance and detect patterns of over-usage. Ensure all medicines are supplied and managed in accordance with legal and regulatory standards. Maintain confidential and detailed patient and pharmacy records. Counsel patients on proper use of medications, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Provide additional patient services including smoking cessation advice, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the use and care of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related problems.
Qualifications and Experience:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required. Active pharmacy license from the New Jersey State Board. Proven experience in dispensing and patient counseling. Ability to oversee pharmacy operations and staff. Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
