Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A full-time Pharmacist position is available in the Los Angeles area, offering an engaging opportunity to work in a hospital setting with variable day and afternoon shifts. This contract role, expected to last 2 to 3 months or longer, involves supporting pharmacy operations at a facility with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. The role may require floating to nearby sister hospitals within a 10 to 15 mile radius, providing variety and exposure to different team environments.

Responsibilities include:

Verifying medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness Overseeing pharmacy technicians and supporting their workflow Consulting with nurses and physicians regarding medication management Managing pharmacokinetics and other specialized pharmacy services Operating automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) and using Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

Current pharmacist licensure and credentials to practice in the state Experience with hospital pharmacy operations, including order verification and technician supervision Familiarity with Pyxis automated dispensing systems and Allscripts/Paragon software Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams Ability to adapt to variable shifts and float among nearby facilities as needed
