Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity is available for a Travel Retail Staff Pharmacist to provide professional pharmacy services at a retail location inside a grocery store in Alamogordo, New Mexico, with occasional shifts at a secondary retail pharmacy. This assignment offers the chance to work within a respected health system, delivering excellent patient care in a community pharmacy setting.

Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday:
9:00 AM - 6:00
PM Wednesday, Friday:
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Closed weekends and six major holidays at primary location Occasional weekend coverage may be required at secondary location
Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in compliance with protocols Maintain precise patient medication profiles and documentation Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify their daily activities Participate in pharmacy team's medical emergency response Inspect medication storage areas, identifying and removing outdated medications Train and orient new pharmacy staff members as needed Adhere strictly to infection control procedures throughout operations Flexibly cover shifts at both primary and secondary retail locations as required
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses Minimum of one year experience as a registered pharmacist preferred APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills Comfortable supervising and directing pharmacy technicians Ability to adapt between multiple retail locations, including occasional weekends Open to travel and flexible with contract duration
