Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract Two staffing pharmacist positions are available for a contract assignment at a well-established medical center in Ohio. This role focuses on inpatient hospital pharmacy services, requiring expertise in medication management within a dynamic clinical setting.
Location:
Fairfield Medical Center, 401 N. Ewing St., Lancaster, OH 43130
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Coverage includes every 6th weekend Contract dates: May 26, 2026 - August 14, 2026
Key Responsibilities:
Verify inpatient medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety Oversee sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding processes Respond to and participate in code situations as needed Collaborate with nursing and provider staff to optimize medication management Dispense medications and provide patient education when necessary Utilize order entry system (Cerner EHR) with training provided Support pharmacy operations alongside pharmacy technicians who prepare and deliver medications
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current Ohio Pharmacist License is required Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, including proficiency with Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) verification Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy principles, antibiotic stewardship, and renal dosing protocols Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Experience with system automation such as Pyxis ADC is preferred but not mandatory This engaging role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care within a supportive hospital environment.
