Pharmacy Cashier/Clerk

is seeking a reliable, customer-focused Pharmacy Cashier/Clerk to manage front-end operations and provide exceptional support to our customers and pharmacy staff. This role is crucial for ensuring a positive retail experience, handling transactions accurately, and assisting with general administrative and organizational tasks. The ideal candidate will be professional, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities Customer Service & Transactions:

Greet all customers warmly and professionally as they enter the pharmacy. Accurately process all retail and prescription transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Handle cash, credit card payments, and reconcile the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift. Answer the telephone, screening calls, and directing inquiries to the appropriate pharmacy staff or pharmacist. Assist customers with locating merchandise and answering general non-clinical questions.

Administrative Support:

Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and deliveries. Assist the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician with labeling and retrieving filled prescriptions. Maintain accurate and organized filing systems for prescriptions, invoices, and general documents.

Retail Operations:

Stock, organize, and face front-end merchandise and inventory. Ensure the retail area, register, and consultation areas are clean, organized, and presentable. Monitor expiration dates on over-the-counter (OTC) products.

Compliance & Confidentiality:

Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations at all times. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail, cashier, or customer service role is preferred. Experience in a pharmacy or medical office is a plus, but not required. Proficiency in operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash accurately. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Must be able to maintain professionalism and composure in a busy environment.
