Position
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as requiredDemonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transportStores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend annual department trainingsAnswer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

will need to be available to work 6AM to 7:30 PM depending location they are covering. Will also need to be available for Saturday hours from 8AM to 12PM They may have to work a Sunday shift as well. benefits are available pay rate - $21 to $23 per hour requires Neonatal to Geriatric patients experience requires a minimum of 3 years of experience This is a float job. Requires a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Mileage expenses paid. Will float to following locations: Float position will be covering a large scale of locations from: Joliet, IL Makena, IL, Marionette Park, IL, Palos Park, IL Oak Brook, Tinley Park, IL, Chicago, IL, Evanston, IL and Waukegan, IL Phlebotomist will be responsible for blood draws and timed glucose tolerance testing. They will also be responsible for processing those specimens (plus, paps, cultures, urine specimens and those collected by the office staff) in our computer system. The phlebotomist will also be responsible for packaging up the specimens for pick up by the courier. As well as maintaining inventory of stock. High customer service is a mustSummary:
