Make a Difference Under the supervision of a Laboratory Supervisor, the Phlebotomist and in accordance with all applicable guidelines, conforms to all organizational and regulatory rules, performs the duties of the assigned laboratory section related to the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorders, is responsible to perform; phlebotomy, specimen collection, provide laboratory courier service, the countywide program, processing samples for referral or storage, deliver specimens to the designated laboratory section, set up cultures in microbiology when needed, answer and direct incoming communications, and assist with the clerical duties when required. Exceptional Skills and Qualifications Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving. High School diploma or GED
Ability to use a computer for documentation and work related purposes
Strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills are required.
Demonstrates accountability for own actions
Provides service in a willing and courteous manner
Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task.
Able to take direction well, but also be self-directed and motivated.
Requires a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.
Deal effectively with patients, visitors, situations, and other Care Team members, while maintaining emotional control
Must have a valid State of Indiana driver's license
Experience or training in phlebotomy preferred
The visual acuity and manual dexterity to identify venipuncture sites and to accurately draw blood specimens according to prescribed Why Community?
