POSITION GOAL
To work diligently and conscientiously in the role of instructional personnel to help students meet or exceed annual learning goals, to meet state and local achievement requirements, and to develop lifelong habits of physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and wellness in alignment with the mission and culture of Ivy Hawn Charter School of the Arts. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in an educational field or the equivalent as defined by Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 6A-1.0503 Hold or is eligible to hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate or equivalent as defined by

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Help students master challenging standards and meet all state and local requirements for achievement. (FS 1012.53) Teach diligently and conscientiously, using prescribed materials and methods, including movement-based and fitness-focused instruction. (FS 1012.53) Keep records and prepare and submit reports required by law, the governing board, and/or the principal/administrator. (FS 1012.53) Maintain a valid Florida educator's certificate as required by state law and state board of education regulations. Perform those duties that are necessary for the diligent and conscientious instruction of students. Use prescribed and otherwise appropriate materials and methods. Conform to all laws and all governing board and school policies and procedures. Deliver all keys, records, and reports and account for all other assigned school property to the principal/administrator at the end of the regular school year or upon transfer or termination of employment, or at any other time as required. Administer prescription medication as assigned and in accordance with law and school policy. Will contact registrar and submit absences in accordance with school policy and create comprehensive lesson plans in accordance with school policy. Conform to policy regarding sexual harassment, within the contexts of teacher-student, supervisor-subordinate, and between persons of the same employment status. Conform to the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida. (FAC 6B-1.001) Conform to the Principles of Professional Conduct for the Education Profession in Florida. (FAC 6B-1.006) Assist in practicing and enforcing laws, rules, and policy regarding the Ivy Hawn Charter School of the Arts Student Handbook and those of Florida, including the authority to use alternatives. Attend staff meetings and in-service training as needed for job enhancement. Attend performances, athletic activities, and events as directed by school administration. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal/Administrator, which are not in conflict with law, policy, or the contract. Physical Education-Specific Responsibilities Plan and deliver age-appropriate physical education instruction for 4th and 5th grade elementary students and middle school students aligned with Florida state standards and school instructional goals. Develop and implement engaging lessons that promote physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and healthy lifestyle habits. Provide differentiated instruction and activities that accommodate varying student abilities, fitness levels, and developmental needs. Organize and supervise structured physical activities, games, fitness stations, and skill-building exercises in a safe and inclusive environment. Support the implementation of separate middle school boys and girls PE classes, with this position primarily serving middle school girls physical education. Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages confidence, respect, leadership, and healthy peer relationships among students. Monitor student safety and ensure adherence to school expectations and appropriate use of gymnasium and outdoor equipment. Assess student participation, growth, fitness progress, and skill development using formal and informal assessment methods. Maintain organization, inventory, and care of physical education equipment, facilities, and instructional materials. Collaborate with fellow PE teachers, coaches, and school staff to support school-wide wellness initiatives, events, and activities. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff regarding student progress, behavior, and program expectations. Promote school spirit, teamwork, and positive sportsmanship consistent with the mission and culture of Ivy Hawn Charter School of the Arts. Support school-wide initiatives, events, and thematic programming aligned with the school's mission and culture.
