Just Kids New Suffolk K-2 Autism Program is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist for the 2027-2027 school year. We are a specialized K-2 autism program dedicated to supporting young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related developmental needs in a highly structured, supportive, and collaborative educational environment. Our interdisciplinary team includes a speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, psychologist, behavior specialist, nurse, teaching assistants, and special education teachers who work closely together to help every child reach their fullest potential. Our program emphasizes individualized, child-centered intervention using evidence-based practices and a strong understanding of sensory processing, communication, behavior regulation, and motor development. We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Physical Therapist who is passionate about working with young children and collaborating within a team-based model.NEW GRADS ARE VERY WELCOME!
!! Part-Time Contract Position Flexible days and hours Position follows the school-year calendar with potential summer opportunities In-person positionResponsibilities:
Provide individual and/or group physical therapy services to students in a K-2 autism program Develop and implement therapy goals aligned with students' IEPs Support gross motor development, balance, coordination, strength, motor planning, posture, and functional mobility Collaborate closely with teachers, occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, psychologist, and classroom staff Participate in classroom-based support and consultative services as appropriate Utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches including motor learning, sensory integration principles, adaptive equipment, and movement-based interventions Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports in compliance with state and school regulations Communicate effectively with families and educational staff regarding student progress and recommendations Assist in creating safe, supportive, and engaging environments for children with autism and related needsQualifications:
Must possess a minimum of a B.S. in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university Must be licensed and currently registered in New York State as a Physical Therapist or possess a limited permit under a Licensed Therapist Experience or interest in pediatrics and autism spectrum disorders preferred Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary teamMedical Specialty:
