Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Physical Therapy Assistant - I to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health environments, and acute care. Your expertise will help patients recover mobility, reduce pain, and regain independence through tailored physiotherapy interventions. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized care plans for diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those in rehabilitation after injury or surgery. Deliver therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques—including trigger point therapy—and modalities to promote healing and improve function. Monitor patient progress by documenting responses to treatments and adjusting care strategies under supervision. Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, post-treatment care, and injury prevention strategies to support ongoing recovery at home or in outpatient settings. Support discharge planning by coordinating with healthcare teams to ensure smooth transitions from hospital or facility to home or outpatient care. Maintain accurate records of treatments provided, patient responses, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards during all patient interactions. Qualifications Valid certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and the fundamentals of physiotherapy techniques. Prior experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments is highly preferred. Familiarity with treatment approaches such as trigger point therapy and modalities used in orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care. Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to comprehensive care plans. Demonstrated understanding of discharge planning processes and documentation requirements. Pay:
$23.61 - $40.00 per hour
