About Us:
Foot and Ankle Specialists of Tennessee is a patient-centered practice dedicated to providing comprehensive podiatric care in a compassionate and professional environment. Our team values excellence, teamwork, and integrity while offering the highest quality medical and wound care services for foot and ankle conditions.Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) with a strong interest in podiatric medicine and wound care to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with our podiatric physicians to evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of foot and ankle conditions.Responsibilities:
Conduct patient histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations Assist in office-based procedures and wound care treatments Formulate and implement treatment plans under physician supervision Perform wound care management, debridement, and dressing changes Provide patient education on care, prevention, and ongoing management of chronic wounds Document clinical findings and treatment plans accurately in the EMR system Coordinate patient care and follow-up with referring providersQualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Current and unrestricted Tennessee PA license (or eligibility to obtain) NCCPA certification required Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory tests (including ICD coding and CPT coding), and interpret results for accurate diagnosis. Document all patient interactions meticulously within medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Skills Proven experience with EMR systems such as Modernizing Medicine ( Mod Med). Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and data management. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding standards, CPT coding procedures, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Skilled in performing physical examinations and patient assessments across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal patients on ventilators or requiring specialized respiratory support like oxygen therapy or dialysis. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, specialists in pain management or addiction counseling. Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to occupational health services or senior/long-term care facilities enhances versatility.
