Picker and Packer Job Description This role focuses on accurately picking, packing, and moving materials within a warehouse environment while maintaining precise documentation and following established safety procedures. The position involves handling freight, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring inventory is correctly tracked, labeled, and processed. Responsibilities Move materials safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse. Track materials within the warehouse, including tagging items and maintaining accurate inventory records. Document weight and dimensions of materials and ensure all related paperwork is completed accurately and on time. Sort and segregate all distributions accurately to support smooth warehouse operations. Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts while following all safety procedures and protocols. Load and unload freight from trucks, vans, and other transportation vehicles, ensuring that paperwork matches what is loaded or unloaded. Perform quality checks on products during loading and unloading to identify and report any potential damage. Document and update disposal data to ensure all use of the dumpster is accurately captured and recorded. Pick and pack materials and freight in a timely, accurate, and orderly manner. Follow all warehouse guidelines for material handling, storage, and documentation to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area. Essential Skills Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment. Hands-on experience with materials handling, including picking, packing, and moving inventory. Ability to perform shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing freight. Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing repetitive tasks. Capability to lift 50+ pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties. Proficiency in reading and writing in Excel to document and track inventory and related data. Attention to detail to ensure accurate tagging, documentation, and inventory tracking. Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols when operating warehouse equipment such as jacks and forklifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in distribution warehouse operations, including picking and pulling inventory. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive tasks. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records. Reliability and punctuality to support consistent weekday operations. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a warehouse-based role with a Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the first day scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will spend most of the day on your feet performing repetitive tasks such as picking, packing, and moving materials. The work involves regular lifting of items weighing 50 pounds or more and operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts. The environment is fast-paced and focused on safety, accuracy, and efficient handling of freight and inventory. Attire should be practical and appropriate for a warehouse setting, allowing for safe operation of equipment and manual material handling. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tolleson, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
