Job Description

Job Title:
Pipefitter Job Description As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across various industrial and commercial projects. Your role will involve reading blueprints, cutting, threading, and welding pipes, ensuring all piping systems comply with safety and quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, welders, and other trades to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities Installation & Fabrication:
Measure, cut, thread, and groove pipes to required specifications. Assemble and install piping systems for industrial, commercial, and mechanical applications. Connect pipes using welding, brazing, soldering, threading, or sluing or pressing, ensuring proper pipe alignment, support, and anchoring according to specifications.
Blueprint & Specification Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and piping schematics. Identify required materials, pipe sizes, and connection methods. Follow detailed work instructions to meet project specifications and deadlines.
Maintenance & Repairs:
Inspect and troubleshoot existing piping systems for leaks, corrosion, or damage. Replace and repair faulty pipes, valves, and fittings as needed. Perform pressure tests and other quality control checks to verify system integrity.
Compliance & Safety:
Follow all OSHA, DHEC, and Company safety regulations when performing repairs. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent hazards. Ensure all piping systems meet industry codes and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with welders, plumbers, and other tradespeople to complete projects. Coordinate with project managers and supervisors to ensure work is completed on schedule. Communicate any issues or required changes to leadership in a timely manner. Essential Skills Strong understanding of pipe materials, fittings, and connection methods. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Proficiency in using pipefitting tools, including pipe cutters, threading machines, and welding equipment. Knowledge of welding techniques (TIG, MIG, stick) is a plus. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines. Minimum of 2 years' experience in pipefitting or a related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred. Certifications such as
OSHA 10/30, NCCER
pipefitting, or welding certifications are a plus. Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and working in tight spaces. Comfortable working in indoor environments, extreme temperatures, and elevated heights. Ability to work with heavy tools and materials safely. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will start and end your day at the company office in Pulaski, TN, and travel to client job sites within a 50-mile radius using company vehicles. The typical work schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday. Occasionally, travel beyond the local area may be required if there are out-of-state projects. You will work in various environments, including industrial sites, and should be prepared to handle different weather conditions and heights. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pulaski, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
