Job Description

Overview We are on the lookout for a proactive and experienced Plant Manager to lead our paper cup manufacturing facility. This role is all about overseeing daily operations, ensuring production efficiency, and maintaining top-notch quality standards. As the driving force behind plant performance, you'll coordinate teams, optimize processes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to keep our manufacturing plant running smoothly and sustainably. Responsibilities Leadership of a paper cup manufacturing plant annually producing over 200,000 cases of hot beverage cups Ensure quality standards compliance Achieve weekly productivity metrics Ontime delivery for all internal and external customer purchase orders Mentor and develop plant leadership team members Establish, coordinate and direct process-improvement initiatives involving new methods, equipment and materials Holds the technical team accountable for all machinery functionality, preventative maintenance and overall facility conditions to ensure business continuity and optimize production uptime Effectively communicate with all external clients, vendors and internal leadership resources Develop and lead process improvement and innovation initiatives Support new material innovations and evaluate cost saving opportunities Research innovations and opportunities with vendors, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and technical and trade associations Collaborate with corporate marketing resources to identify and execute marketing strategies and ensure the Superior Cup brand standards are comprehensively represented and relevant to the current business strategies Prepare annual budgets and growth targets Weekly financial reporting Procures production materials in coordination with production forecasting and changing business demand Ensures a safe working environment through compliance with local regulations and company safety and sanitation standards Requirements Experience managing a similar production manufacturing facility Project management skills and/or equivalent technical experience with industrial production equipment Strong understanding of production accountability metrics with the ability to effectively impact efficiency and financial success Strong mathematical and analytical skills Experienced using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office software Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet internal deadlines and customer commitments Ability to see growth opportunities and increase profitability Primarily maintains day shift working hours with the ability to proactively recognize the need to work a flexible schedule as business dictates
Travel Required:
Minimal for Regional Trade Shows 3 to 4 times annually
Plant Hours of Operation:
6 days per week, 3 shifts per day Shift 1: 7:00 am
  • 3:00 pm Shift 2: 3:00 pm
  • 11:00 pm Shift 3: 1:00 pm
