Pochuck Shelter Repair

Join the West Jersey Trail Crew on Saturday, May 16 from 9 am•4 pm and help replace the roof on the A.T.'s Pochuck Shelter in Wawayanda State Park. All are welcome•no experience needed.

What to expect:

We will begin work replacing the roof on the AT's Pochuck Shelter, in Wawayanda State Park. We will meet at 9:00 am and work until between 3:00 pm and 4:00pm.

Terrain:

Terrain is hilly and rocky (this is North Jersey, after all!) There is a ¼•½ mile walk, without tools, from the meeting location to the staging area. From there we will walk ¼ mile, carrying tools and materials, to the work site.

What to bring:

Bring your lunch, plenty of water, work gloves, clothing appropriate for the weather, and sturdy work shoes, and be prepared to get dirty. You will be expected to wear a hard hat (we will provide them, but bring your own if you have one) and eye protection (either prescription glasses or safety glasses•please bring your own safety glasses if you have them.) We provide all tools.

After you register you will receive an email from the crew leaders with trip details including meeting location and driving directions.
