SALARY:
Hourly:
$26.53 - $31.78 (Depending on Experience for Lateral Hire)
Benefit Information:

POSITION DETAILS
The Village of South Bloomfield, Ohio, is a growing Village in northern Pickaway County. We are currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. All applicants MUST have already completed or currently be enrolled in the Police Academy to be considered.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have OPOTA Certification or currently be enrolled in the Police Academy.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Completion of Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Course; must successfully complete a firearms qualification program and maintain qualifications under
ORC 109.81
; must obtain certification in LEADS system operation; must obtain certification in breath testing equipment operation; must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and maintain insurability under the Municipality's vehicle insurance policy.
JOB DESCRIPTION
(1) Patrols assigned area in order to protect residents of the Village and their property; responds to emergency calls and complaints; demonstrates initiative in monitoring traffic and enforcing laws; issues citations and makes arrests of suspected criminals; investigates and gathers evidence at crime scenes; interviews witnesses and suspects; conducts traffic accident investigations, provides emergency services (e.g., first aid, CPR, etc). (2) Generates detailed reports documenting criminal and non-criminal incidents as required; maintains appropriately documented records in accordance with department policy; conducts investigations of felonies and misdemeanors. (3) Appears in court to provide testimony regarding incidents, investigations, and results of inquiries; assists the prosecutor in case preparation or presentation as needed. (4) Maintains required licensure and certification. (5) Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. (6) Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other concerns deemed undesirable in a Patrol Officer position given the responsibilities of this position
