With a 5-on / 5-off schedule, academy sponsorship, no residency requirement, and a fast 1-month hiring process (quicker for laterals), this is your opportunity to serve! Salary $64,978.00 - $80,305.00 Annually Summary of Job New London Police Officers enjoy a great schedule, 11 hour shifts with a 5 day on, 5 day off rotation. Vacation is earned after six months. Throw in your personal day, you work less than half a year. Of course, our salary and benefits are competitive. We enjoy a great culture, promoting innovation as well as career advancement. SWAT, MEG
Unit, Investigations, ICAC investigations, Drone Program, School Resource Officers, Public Safety Cadet Advisors, and eventually supervisor roles. Position Responsibilities Working in a team oriented environment with a positive culture enforcing laws of the State of Wisconsin, City of New London. Qualifications Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously Ability to perform essential functions of this position Ability to possess a firearm Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Clear and concise speech Driver's license Good driving record Good physical condition Good verbal and written communication skills Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems No domestic abuse convictions No felony convictions React quickly and effectively to stressful situations U.S. citizen Vision correctable to 20/20 Education Requirements High school diploma 60 college credits / Associate's degree Hiring Process Physical Fitness/Agility Screening Oral Interviews Polygraph Examination Psychological Examination Drug Screening Medical Examination Background Check Additional Information Lateral Transfer candidates are streamlined through an accelerated hiring process. The Police and Fire Commission approves salary, vacation and sick time for lateral transfers.
