Job Description

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) Full-Time, Night Shift • Traverse City, MI Mid-West Center for Sleep Disorders is a physician-owned, board-certified sleep medicine practice serving Mid-Michigan since 2008. Our team manages a full-service in-lab sleep facility, home sleep apnea testing program, comprehensive PAP and oral-appliance therapy, and an active research portfolio of industry-sponsored sleep trials through Sound Asleep Research. We are AASM-accredited and use Compumedics Profusion for in-lab acquisition and scoring.
Ground-floor opportunity:
be one of the first technologists in our new 3-bed sleep lab in Traverse City. Help us shape protocols, room setup, and workflow from day one.
THE ROLE
We are hiring a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to acquire, monitor, and support the scoring of overnight sleep studies for our clinical and research patients. You will be the primary technologist on assigned nights, working directly with our sleep physician, lead RPSGT, and research coordinator. This is a full-time night-shift role with a stable schedule and no rotating hospital call.
LOCATION & SCHEDULE
This role is based at our new Traverse City sleep lab — a 3-bed, ground-up AASM-built facility opening Q3 2026. You will be among the first technologists in the new lab, with the opportunity to help shape protocols, room setup, and clinical workflow from day one. Full-time, 3 to 4 night shifts per week (typically 7 pm to 7 am). Until the Traverse City lab opens, the role may include training rotations in our Lansing lab with mileage and lodging reimbursement, or a delayed start that aligns with the TC lab go-live.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

PSG, CPAP
/ BiPAP / ASV / AVAPS titration, and pediatric studies per AASM standards. Acquire MSLT and MWT studies; manage daytime nap protocols per AASM scoring rules. Execute sponsored clinical-trial protocols accurately and on time — including source documentation, drug-administration safety checks, and sponsor monitor visits. Score studies in Compumedics Profusion per AASM 3 % rule (clinical) and 4 % rule (CMS) as appropriate. Complete tech-summary documentation each night. Maintain lab equipment, supplies, and consumables. Coordinate with biomed and vendors as needed. Educate and orient patients to PAP therapy at setup and titration. Document mask fit, leak, comfort, and patient response. Mentor and supervise tech trainees on the BRPT pathway. Participate in AASM accreditation maintenance, QA reviews, and lab-policy updates.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current BRPT-issued RPSGT credential, in good standing. Minimum two (2) years of independent PSG acquisition experience. Current BLS (CPR) certification. Comfortable with Compumedics Profusion (or willing to cross-train within 30 days). Excellent attention to detail, comfortable working overnight independently, strong patient-care and communication skills. Able to lift 25 lb routinely (supplies, equipment) and assist patients with mobility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience with industry-sponsored sleep research protocols (any phase). GCP and IATA training already completed. Pediatric PSG experience. Experience mentoring junior techs through BRPT credentialing. Familiarity with athenaOne EMR (training provided if not).
COMPENSATION

Sign-on bonus of $4,500-$7,500 payable at 90 days of satisfactory performance — reflecting the ground-floor nature of the role. Relocation assistance is available for qualified out-of-area candidates.
