HS Diploma Req'd Location:
Brookville, NY (Nassau County / Long Island)
Seasonal:
July 1, 2026, through August 21, 2026
Hours:
Mon-Fri, 9:00am•2:30pm
Hourly Rate:
$18.50 /Hr. Join our team as a Pool Aide this summer and support school age and/or preschool children with intellectual and other disabilities (I/DD) by assisting with pool safety, engaging students during swim activities, and helping create a safe, supportive, and inclusive experience in and around the pool. At Brookville Center for Children's Services , we provide comprehensive services for children 3-21 years of age with intellectual and other disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and autism. Our mission is to educate and support children of all abilities. Pool Aides assist the lifeguard with daily pool safety and actively support students before, during, and after swim activities. Responsibilities include helping students dress and undress for pool time, ensuring life jackets are properly used, engaging with students in the pool, and supporting activities that promote independence, social development, and personal growth. Pool Aides serve as positive role models, maintain clear communication with staff, and immediately report any safety concerns, incidents, or changes in a student's condition. You will also help maintain a clean and safe pool area, inspect lifesaving equipment, ensure pool rules are posted and followed, and support an inclusive, respectful environment for students and families.
We require:
HS Diploma or Equivalent Proficient swimming skills Prior experience working with students with disabilities preferred Physical Aspects may include but are not limited to lifting and transferring of an adult/student. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer Proud of Our Workforce Diversity.
