ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.

Gathers soiled linen/resident personal clothing from designated areas. 2. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of entrance/lobby, hallways, storage areas and perform other housekeeping/minor maintenance procedures in accordance with facility standards, policies, procedures, and established work/cleaning schedules. 3. Strip, wash, wax and buff floors within resident rooms, hallways and other areas within the facility according to established cleaning schedule. 4. Coordinate daily cleaning services with Nursing staff when performing assignments in resident living areas and with recreation staff when performing cleaning assignments in resident activity areas. 5. Collect and dispose of refuse/waste and maintain cleanness of trash containers in accordance with established facility polices. 6. Proper care, use and storage of housekeeping/janitorial equipment; keep assigned work area free of hazardous conditions. 7. Perform minor maintenance duties on the nursing unit/within the facility i.e. replacing burned out light bulbs, movement of heavy furniture. 8. Perform heavy cleaning/polishing of wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, commodes, medication carts etc. 9. Spot and stain removal of all floors and furniture. 10. Shampoo of rugs, and fabric and upholstery cleaning 11. Performs other related duties as may be deemed necessary by Supervisor / Administrator and or Director.
