See the Benefits home page for more information. Position Summary TheDepartment of Biology at the University of New Mexico invites applications fora Post-Doctoral Fellow to begin in June 2026. This is a full-time position withspecialization in Biology Education Research. Applicants must have a PhD in biologyeducation research, STEM education research, discipline-based educationresearch (DBER), or a closely related field with an emphasis on mixed methodsresearch by date of appointment. For best consideration, all applicationmaterials must be received by March 13, 2026. Theresponsibilities of this position will be to lead data collection and analysisefforts on grant-funded program-related research projects. Candidate willengage in scholarship activities (publishing and presenting at conferences) andmentor undergraduate students in education research. It will include workingcollaboratively across NSF grant PIs and leadership and assisting with NSFgrant program logistics. The position will also assist with development,implementation, and assessment of development of nationwide program that aimsto improve graduate teaching assistant teaching professional development
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
1. Doctoral degree in biology educationresearch, STEM education research, discipline-based education research (DBER),or a closely related field with an emphasis on mixed methods research by date of application 2. Teaching experience at the college oruniversity level 3. A broad understanding of theliterature on evidence-based teaching practices and STEM education
PreferredQualifications:
1) Mixed-methods education researchexperience (strong qualitative and quantitative experimental design, datacollection and analysis skills) 2) Experience using statistical software(e.g., R /R Studio or similar) 3) Experience with qualitative dataanalysis software (e.g., Maxqda) 4) Experience leading manuscriptpreparation (writing, and peer review processes) 5) Supervision and mentorship ofundergraduate researchers 6) Familiarity with the literature on change theory and graduate student teaching and learning 8) A demonstrated commitment tocultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and tothe success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
